The results are in and big congratulations to David Chambers (Monash) and the ladies from the Red Tease Team (Moore Park) who on Sunday, May 17th, became our 2009 Barnbougle Dunes - GOLF Link Challenge Champions!

Contested over the stunning and World Ranked 35th Top Golf Course; Barnbougle Dunes, all of our challenge competitors were treated to a true links experience. The players competed in opening day high winds, all the way through to a calm and sunny final day that saw a late charge for points as a number of players raced for the overall team and individual titles.

Four days of excellent golf was complemented by the warm Tasmanian hospitality, sumptuous meals and accommodation with great views over the course and ocean. We would like to offer thanks to a great group of individuals who came from 7 States to experience the second GOLF Link Challenge, I'm sure all the players will go away with fond memories of a challenging golf course and evenings of laughter, sat around the clubhouse fire.

It was a masterful final round 37 points that saw the left-handed Englishmen (now an Australian Resident!), David Chambers prove just that bit too strong for the rest of the field and reach an insurmountable final total of 97 points.

The team title was taken by Moore Park's - Red Tease Team, who after leading from Day 1, never looked back on route to a closing total of 306 points. The ladies from Sydney played wonderful golf from start to finish; indeed Elaine Walker almost made it a double celebration when she finished 2nd in the individual contest. Congratulations to Elaine, Jane T, Tessa and Jane J!

We had further good news for Mark Dell of the Riverside Rascals, who was lucky enough to have his name pulled out of the hat and won his entrance fee of $699 back! His trip to Barnbougle is on GOLF Link and Mark has assured us that he will be splitting the win with the rest of the 'Rascals'!

So, as the Challenge gears up for our next SOLD OUT event in Queensland, we will look forward to seeing if an Aussie can finally take the Individual Title and we look forward to meeting more great golfers.
