The Hamilton Island Challenge
Kick off your stay with a Welcome Cocktail Party at Catseye Beach on Friday night, enjoy three nights spectacular accommodation at the Reef View Hotel, compete over two rounds of golf at the Hamilton Island Golf Club and enjoy refreshments and a sumptuous presentation lunch as we wrap up the event.
The Hamilton Island Golf Club
The golf course is located on Dent Island – the island that sits next to Hamilton Island itself - a quick 5 minute ferry transfer from the hotel. Designed by champion golfer, Peter Thomson, the par 71 championship course measures 6,120 metres (6692 yards).
The course is designed as a series of holes strung along the ridges and played across steep valleys and the course layout works with the landform, with generally broad fairways taking the “line of least resistance”, avoiding the steeper, more sensitive areas.
The island's natural and rugged beauty, together with its mountainous terrain affords stunning 360 degree views across secluded coves and beaches to adjacent passages and islands, and the mainland beyond.
The tournment structure - team and individual
TEAM EVENT

4 players per team – enter as a 4-person team (note – accommodation is twin share, so if you don’t have a team we’ll make every effort to pair you up)

No handicap limit - open to all Men and Women with a GOLF Link or Golf Access handicap.

Stableford scoring format.

The best 3 scores from your team are used for each hole, each day and added up to form your daily team score.

There is a team winner each day and an overall team winner will hold the GOLF Link Challenge Trophy (Team) at the end of tournament.
INDIVIDUAL EVENT

Normal format with all 3 cards being added together to determine the overall individual winner.

No handicap limit - open to all Men and Women with a GOLF Link or Golf Access handicap.

Stableford scoring format.

There is a winner each day and an overall individual winner will hold the GOLF Link Challenge Trophy (Individual) at the end of the tournament.
