ANOTHER terrific field of enthusiastic golfers battled hot and windy conditions at the challenging North Lakes Resort in the second QLD event of the Golf Link Race to Bonville Series.
The course was presented in great condition despite the lack of rain in recent months. To have been successful on this tight layout, finding the fairway off the tee was essential on the day. The wind played havoc with club selection into greens, and the putting surfaces were true and fast making it a wonderful test of golf.
Congratulations to Paul Green who won the day’s event with an impressive 41 points. Paul took home a brand new Cobra Puma Golf Stand Bag, a bottle of wine from the Golf Link Wine Club, the winner’s medal and of course FREE entry into the Queensland State Final at Brookwater GC.
Coming in second overall and winning A grade was Renan White who had a great score of 40 points, our C Grade winner was Zac Ferrier who had a score of 38 points. Well done to the rest of the place getters and all golfers that rightly earned their Order of Merit points at this event. To view full results from the day click here.
Other highlights of the day included Craig Hoopers 266m drive to win the Cobra Puma Go Looong Challenge and Michael Browns approach (364cm) into the Golf Buddy NTP hole. This win continued Michael’s impressive streak of winning the same prize at the previous Queensland event held at Pacific Harbour! It’s fair to say that he has his iron play dialled in!
Well done to all our prize winners and a big thank you our wonderful sponsors.
The Queensland Order of Merit is starting to take shape after two of the five qualifying with Zac Ferrier out to an early lead following two top 5 performances. With three events still to be played the Order of Merit race is still wide open to any golfer who can manage three good finishes! To view the full Queensland Order of Merit standings click here.
Queensland’s third qualifying event will be held at the magnificent Links Hope Island Resort on Friday December 5th (7:30am shot gun start). Click here to book.
This highly acclaimed course offers a premium golfing experience for golfers of all abilities. It certainly isn’t as penal as the first two courses played in our QLD events, and will reward quality course management. The links style layout offers a point of difference and the level of service is always first class.
The first two events in Queensland had both ‘SOLD OUT’, so book in early to avoid disappointment.
